Most compute prices in private, negotiated deals with no independent reference — enough at stake to care, not enough leverage to see the market. Paste a quote, a term-sheet excerpt, or the thread it arrived in. The Grid reads it and returns only what it actually holds: the bookable-ask panel (tier-2 bookable asks, dated), the assessed range where the minimum-observation rules allow one, the terms buyers customarily negotiate alongside price, and what is missing from yours. Where The Grid holds nothing comparable, it says so — no number is ever invented.
A check stores nothing. Nothing you paste is stored unless you explicitly confirm — and before any confirm you see, exactly, what the public would ever see from your row at each permission level, with the withholding rules rendered live.
The bargain runs one way: you can’t see yourself in the market without contributing to it. The floors are published and structural: an aggregate renders WITHHELD below 2 comparable observations, and nothing is cited from a cohort smaller than 5. If your contract carries a confidentiality clause, the carve-out language for counsel exists for exactly that case.
We record what was asked for — model class, term bucket, coarse region, whether the read could answer — never what you pasted. the notice →
