What you are reading. The Grid publishes market observation about the AI compute supply chain: daily printed series, dated editorial, registers of third-party-reported facts, and this methodology library. Every printed value is produced by the method of record described at /standards/methodology and specified per series at /standards/instruments; every published value stands as printed and is corrected only by a filed correction (/standards/corrections), never rewritten.
What is warranted. That the method stated is the method applied; that a methodology change is announced before it affects a print; that a permanent print URL returns the same body for a past date, with corrections appearing only in its corrections array; that provenance is stamped where the print carries it. Nothing else: the site is provided as is, and The Grid does not warrant that any series is complete, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. Panels can be thin and are disclosed as thin; series can be withheld or suspended by notice.
What it is not.Not investment, procurement, legal or tax advice; not a recommendation to transact with any provider; not a settlement price or a contractual reference (see §Ⅳ). Third-party series (OCPI, a cited feed, a commentator’s claim) remain their publishers’ and are always attributed. Registers record what a source reported; recording is not verification.
Independence. The Grid holds no investment position in any company it covers, no position in compute or compute derivatives, and takes no proprietary or NDA-protected data. The only commercial arrangement that touches a surface — provider referral on /providers— is disclosed on that page. No party’s commercial relationship with The Grid influences a printed level.
Every consumption surface — the briefing, /start, the editorial, the registers, the newsletter — carries the same line, rendered from a single constant in code (mirrored in the pipeline: one definition, two runtimes) so no editor or model can vary it. It reads:
Formalised: The Grid publishes conditions and inputs. It does not recommend buying, selling, locking, or riding; it does not name a price a reader should pay; a “buyer posture” on a band table is a description of what the market condition has historically implied, not advice to a reader.

Every complaint is logged with its date, substance, disposition and response time. A complaint that identifies an error is resolved on the corrections rail; one that identifies a defective method is resolved by notice; one that is not upheld is answered with the reason. Complaints do not change a printed value on their own — the corrections policy does.
Cite freely, with attribution.Any Grid value, series or edition may be quoted, cited, charted or discussed in research, journalism, analysis, internal reporting or an agent’s answer — free of charge — provided it is attributed to The Grid with the print date and, where practical, the permanent print URL. No permission is needed and none will be refused.
Permanent print URLs. Every dated print is at https://thegridco.ai/api/print/<date>. The body for a past date is immutable: it never changes except for entries appearing in its corrections array. Cite the URL and the citation resolves, forever, to what was printed that day. The latest print is at https://thegridco.ai/api/print; corrections at /api/print/corrections.
What needs a licence. Redistribution — republishing Grid series or history systematically, as a feed, dataset, or embedded data product, whether or not for a fee; and reference use — using any Grid series as a settlement price, a contractual price reference, or a benchmark for a financial instrument. Neither is permitted without a written licence from The Grid.
