GCCX · Grid Compute Complex Index

Equal-weight index of the 29-ticker compute-complex equity panel, rebased to 100 at 2026-06-09 (the first full-panel date). GCCX_t = 100 × mean over tickers of (price_i(t) / price_i(base)) / adj_i(t). The panel is frozen to the tickers present at the base date; tickers added to collection later do not enter until a methodology revision.

Class — and why

An equity composite — the tape, kept as the confirmation layer the physical indicators are measured against (divergence-module decision of record, 2026-07-24). Derived value only; no raw per-ticker quotes are stored or displayed beyond break/carry diagnostics.

· Normalisation and construction rules

the named adjustments, in order
  • Freshness by price change, not row presence — a ticker is fresh on t when its close differs from its last recorded close (first appearance counts as fresh); the scraper writes last-close carryovers on non-trading days, so a row is not fresh data.
  • Carry-forward — a ticker missing on t is carried at its last close (standard index practice) and counted in the print's detail, never dropped silently.
  • Corporate-action guard — a fresh day-over-day move beyond ±50% is treated as a series break: the ticker's adjustment factor absorbs the break ratio so it contributes zero return and the series stays continuous (observed: SOXS 2026-07-14→15 reverse split; KLAC 2026-06-11→14 source break). Re-anchor events are recorded in detail.
  • SOXS (a 3× inverse ETF) is flagged for the v1.1 methodology review as a questionable constituent of a long composite; v1.0 follows the 2026-07-24 decision as written.

· Minimum observations and withholding

below which the print is flagged · below which it is not published

≥ 50% of the panel fresh on the date, else no print for that date (skipped, never interpolated).

This page renders the method of record for GCCX; it does not define it. Printed values are never rewritten — a change in method is announced by notice before it affects a print (publish-before-effect); a correction restates only what the day’s own information set supported.
